The Women’s Sports Foundation provides grants, free educational materials, advice and technical assistance to schools, recreation programs and other girl-serving organizations that offer or want to offer physical activity programming.  Founded in 1974 by Billie Jean King, the Women’s Sports Foundation is a national charitable educational organization dedicated to advancing the lives of girls and women through physical activity.

To read more about the Foundation’s work and access over 8,000 pages of information about sports and physical activity for girls and women, please visit our website at www.WomensSportsFoundation.org call our information hotline at (800) 227-3988 or email us at info@WomensSportsFoundation.org.

About GoGirlGo!

GoGirlGo! supports parents and girl-serving organizations who want to join the Foundation in the GoGirlGo! initiative to get one million inactive girls to participate in regular physical activity and keep another one million currently active girls ages 8-18 from dropping out of physical activity.  If we do nothing to increase physical activity levels, one in three youth are born in the year 2000 will become a Type II diabetic.  Girls are a greater risk than boys because they don’t get the same support to play sports – either encouragement or funding.

 The five key components include:

  • Groundbreaking research
  • Educational and awareness initiative
  • Community Activation
  • Grant Program
  • GoGirlWorld

The Women’s Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization; therefore all donations are fully deductible to the extent allowed by law.
